This 1930s French couture evening dress is a luxurious wardrobe addition for any fans of this era, or anyone after an eye-catching gown for an upcoming event. It is crafted from high shine, inky black silk and accented with a gold and black lamé panel across the rear. The bias-cut nips in the waist and creates a timeless, body-skimming silhouette. The neckline gathers at the bust, forming a V-shape which hints at the décolletage, and the pretty, fluttering sleeves are highly flattering on the arm. The gold lamé accent is seen under the sleeves detailed with woven botanical forms which catch the light unexpectedly as the wearer walks.
This glamorous but unlabelled gown, couture made in France, is over 90 years old and is in wonderful vintage condition. If we are being very picky, there is a small amount of dulling of the lame under the arms but this cannot be seen when worn. Will fit a range of sizes due to the bias cut shape up to a UK 8 or US 4. Our model is 5ft 4in / 163cm and a UK 6-8 and this fit her well.
